A couple months ago, Adam from the Moistboys reached out to let us know that he was teaming up with Platform Garage to import a container from Japan. Containers are generally the most cost effective way to bring large parts overseas but we didn’t have enough parts to import and fill up our own, so we jumped at the opportunity to join in on this one.

In Japan, they had a broker who worked on getting everything packed into the container. There were some shipping delays in getting the container to Vancouver from Japan, which is where the Suez Canal jokes came from, but the day finally came where we got the call to go to the port and crack open this JDM treasure chest. There were so many goodies inside including cars, aero parts, seats, and very many scooters. Most exciting for us was Dylan’s inverted hatch Airone Gate for his Celica Supra, which we had to try on right away.

We also checked out the Lordco 34th Annual Tradeshow this week. We talked with vendors and saw the new tools available from Lordco’s various suppliers like K&N, Milwaukee, Raybestos, and hundreds of other name brands. The show is reserved for industry accounts like shop owners, fleet managers, or dealerships, so it was very cool to be invited and get the inside scoop on this event. Lordco is one of our newest sponsors which is really exciting not only because we’ve all been long-time customers of them, but also because they’re a massive BC-based company with a big hand in the automotive industry. So big thank you to Lordco for letting us join in on the fun this week, we really loved pretending to roast giant marshmallows and getting access to killer deals on your products.
Some packages came in the mail this week as well. We posted on Instagram that we were looking for stickers to decorate our shop doors/windows with. Honey Automotive reached out and asked if we would be interested in a few, which we absolutely were because they have some really cool designs. Our friend Jeff from team Hi-Heel also sent us a package with stickers, a Japanese “kari number” license plate, and a whole bunch of Mexican candies for us to try out. Thank you both so much for sending those in, our window is now 200% cooler!
As always, really appreciate all of you who read through these weekly articles. We have so many projects that we’re currently working on to get ready for the upcoming car season, and we’re really looking forward to attending more events and hopefully getting to meet some of you out there. Hopefully you enjoyed this week’s video, and if there’s something you want to see more of please let us know!
